Dermal fillers for Acne Scars

Dermal fillers are most commonly used to treat lines on the face caused by a loss of volume as we age. However, they can also be used to improve the appearance of acne scars.

Acne scars may remain as a permanent mark on your face from your teenage years and into adulthood. They may result in people feeling embarrassed and losing confidence as they can be obviously visible and unsightly.

If you suffer with scarring following childhood acne, you may benefit from dermal fillers to improve their appearance; these are available as part of a range of treatments at Juvea Aesthetics.

Areas that can be treated

Acne scars may be present on many different parts of your body, however the face is the area which most clients are most concerned about, given that it is the most visible. Dermal fillers can be used to make the appearance of acne scarring less obvious on all parts of your face, from forehead to chin.

The dermal fillers on offer at Juvea Aesthetics are based on hyaluronic acid; this is a naturally occurring component of your skin. By injecting hyaluronic acid beneath the areas of acne scarring, our qualified practitioners are able to restore volume and improve the appearance of tethering and concavities caused by the scarring.

What’s more, you can be confident that you are receiving the right treatment for you at Juvea Aesthetics. Every injection is performed by trained practitioners as part of a treatment package tailored to you during your consultation. You may also benefit from other treatments such as chemical peels and laser treatments to give you the best chance of achieving the result that you desire.

Following your consultation, your treatment will usually take less than 30 minutes and results will be visible immediately. You should be able to return to your usual activities straight away.

Just get in touch to book your consultation where we will discuss the range of treatment options available to you.

Are fillers for acne scars safe?

Dermal fillers are a safe procedure and few patients suffer from complications. By offering natural fillers, we ensure that the risks of an allergic reaction is very low. All treatments have the potential to cause side effects and complications, but serious complications following injection of dermal fillers are rare. Dermal fillers may cause an interruption of the blood supply to the treated area. Less serious complications include discolouration, bruising, scarring, and infection. All of these can be treated and a full course of aftercare will be provided by Juvea Aesthetics.

Do filler injections for acne scars need to be repeated?

Injections can be repeated. When choosing this treatment, you should bear in mind that results are temporary and will usually last between 6 and 12 months depending on your scars.
